This Logitech webcam is superb in every way. Installation and webcam startup was seemless and fully operational in less than 5 minutes. The automatic mode works remarkably well. There are any number of controls for zooming, auto/manual focusing, face tracking, and a number of other options which appear to be un-necessary for the average user such as me. The camera works well in average room lighting; the microphone is more than adequate. The Logitech software permits independent muting of either the voice or the picture.
Our several families each purchased on to allow us to make Skype video calls to each other. As long as you have a DSL-or-better internet connection, and a dual processor computer (or a Pentium 4 HT), Skype and the camera perform flawlessly together.
