My brother and I were looking for webcams so we could videochat with each other across the country. We each bought this product based upon the reviews here and around the web. The webcam itself is nice, with very good picture and framerate. However, the deal breaker is the horribly broken software and the almost non-existent Logitech tech support.
The software that came with the webcam would not install on my desktop computer nor my brother's laptop. We each had to go to the Logitech website and download new software, and it still wouldn't install on my brother's laptop. The software did finally install on my desktop, but it isn't fully functional. None of the video effects components work.
According to the forums on the Logitech website (and a few of the reviews here), the installation and video effects issues are well known, but no fix is on the horizon. Apparently, Logitech is in no hurry to fix it's broken software and, therefore, I don't see any reason for anyone to buy this product.Get more detail about Logitech Webcam Pro 9000.
